Drop Cloth Designs
This is a story of Deborah and Marcus Weaver
firstname.lastname@example.orgDeborah and Marcus and their “Fabulous Farm House Furniture”. You know the kind-Sturdy solid wood, painted to perfection, upholstered in gorgeous colorful linens heirlooms for many generations
kind of furniture! Well, that is definitely the theme of this story.
The Weavers (dynamos by the way): Deborah-a nurse, a screen print business owner, a mother of three and Marcus-a firefighter, an intel retiree, a father of three...raised their children in Brady bunch style via Pojaque, Nambe, Santa Fe before landing in Albuquerque a few years back. With six children, they were always on a mission to find durable yet stylish furniture. At first they would buy from thrift stores and garage sales; then refurbish and change the look of each treasure in their garage. Ultimately it propeled them into a full time booming business in Albuquerque. They named it Drop Cloth Designs.
Drop Cloth Designs repurposes, custom builds, embellishes and teaches the art of the “refurbish”. They sell chalk paint supplies, do cabinet makeovers and Marcus does handyman services.
Their Storefront/Wearhouse is located in the historic Los Ranchos Mall.
6855 4th Street NW Ste E-1, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque.
They have been there for just a few months, but are feeling pretty settled and comfortable. It’s a great location. They are excited to be a part of the Los Ranchos annual holiday stroll in December.
Marcus builds massive “Farm House” tables from scratch. According to Deborah, “He can build anything in any style”. Currently he is working on 60 chairs and 18 tables for the new El Patio opening at Griego/Rio Grande NW. Deborah determines the colors and the designs. Both are extremely talented and make a great team.
Every piece of Drop Cloth Design furniture is custom, which means there are no two pieces alike. Their inventory is constantly changing. If you do not see what you want today, no worries, tommorow you will.
Deborah teaches chalk painting workshops on Saturdays. It’s $65 a person for three hours of instruction on a bring your own suitcase size piece of furniture. She will show you distressing technique, sealing techniques and then—-you get to take home your project, the paint and brushes.
Whether you have some old dreary furniture you’d like to revitalize or you just want a whole new look, stop by Drop Cloth Designs and become part of the Weaver fabulous furniture story.
